Do you celebrate WINS in your business? Small business owners are notorious for not celebrating their success. You feel like you’re always on the go, always on to the next goal – the next mountaintop. You’re not even sure what success looks like for you.

Today, we talk about the importance of celebrating your wins and taking the time to document those milestone moments in your business.

#1 Define Success
What does success look like for you? Is it a certain lifestyle like taking Fridays off? Is it a financial milestone that you’ve been working toward? It’s important that you define it, so that you can celebrate it.

#2 Acknowledge Your Milestones
Acknowledge milestones by setting quarterly goals. This is by far one of the best things that we have put into practice in our business in the last couple of years.

We’re all great at setting a yearly goal and then forgetting about it. But a quarterly goal gives you just three months out of the year to look at. So, set your goal and work it backwards. For instance, if three months from now you want to be at a certain financial milestone, what has to be true for each of those three months leading up to it? How many customers do you need? How many sales do you need to close in order to reach that goal? You should also decide in advance what you plan to do in celebration when you reach your quarterly goal — and hold yourself to it!

#3 Do Something Fun

Celebrating may not come naturally for most of us, and it does require some planning — just like reaching those quarterly goals. Plan ahead for what you’re going to do when you reach that milestone. Maybe you’re going to try that new, fancy restaurant that you haven’t been able to get to yet. Maybe you’re going to take a one-day adventure with your family and make new memories. Mark the milestone. Acknowledge the work you put in toward reaching your goal.
